Here we collect information & tips on how to go about installing spare parts. Please note that these "guides" are from our experience and may differ from product to product. - Openable
1. Remove the old center strip and div window holders & then screw the rubber strip itself.
2. Clean the frame from the old sealant. it does not have to be super clean but just so that there are no lumps left.
3. Do everything again but in reverse. Pin the rubber strip to the frame. The openable window strip has sealant in it when purchased so it is normally enough to just mount it as it comes.
To install the center strip most easily, you can use our tool for center strips, you then take and spray on soap or silicone spray on the rubber strip,
fit the tool into the molding and then feed the molding through the tool and advance the tool while holding the molding in the correct position.
- Fixed window
1. remove the old weatherstrip.
2. get help from someone who can push the window from the inside of the wagon/car while you stand on the outside and receive the window.
Work your way around the frame until the window is completely loose. (NB be careful when doing this as the windows can be fragile if they are older and crack easily)
3. remove the rubber strip from the frame.
4. Clean the frame from the old sealant. it does not have to be super clean but just so that there are no lumps left.
5. Do everything again but in reverse. Put a generous line of sealant inside the rubber strip at the edge (so it seals from the outside).
Again, be careful when fitting the box so it doesn't crack.
Fitting the roof hatch
1. remove the old roof hatch
This is most easily done by two people, one inside the vehicle pushing on the edges of the roof hatch while a second person is outside and "cuts" away the old sealant that sits between the frame & roof.
2. clean the roof of the old sealant, it doesn't have to be extremely clean but focus on getting rid of lumps and most of the residue.
3. Hold your new roof hatch and make sure it fits in the hole, make adjustments if necessary.
4. Add new sealant to the new roof hatch, there is normally a groove on the inside of the outer frame, ie the one that is against the roof, put a strip of sealant about 1x1cm is normal but may vary on different models of roof hatches. Feel free to check the instructions if it comes with the roof hatch. As a rule, a little sealing compound should "flow" out of the roof hatch once you screw it on.
5. Insert the new roof hatch into the hole and center it as best you can.
6. Screw the sunroof in place, this also differs between models, some are screwed from the outside, others are screwed from inside the vehicle. Follow the instructions for your particular roof hatch.
7. Install the inner frame.
Replacing the water tap
1. Turn off the water system if you have a pressurized water pump, also make sure to have a bucket or container available if you have water in the hoses.
2. Disconnect the water hoses from the faucet, if this is with quick couplings either John Guest or Uniquick, push the hose against the coupling then hold the edge of the
coupling below you pull out the hose. Remove any locking clips first if there are any.
3. Disconnect any electrical cables to the switch in the faucet.
4. Unscrew the nut that sits under the bench around the water hoses. If you have difficulty accessing this nut, we have made a tool you can use to extend the nut and make it more accessible for unscrewing. Search on the website for article K2113, note only for taps that are for hole dimensions 33mm.
5 . Remove the existing tap from the bench and mount the new one in the hole.
6 . Thread the water hoses through the nut and tighten it.
7 . Connect the water hoses with the vehicle's water system.
8. Connect the electrical cables to the switch if you need it, you can skip this step if you have a submersible pump in the vehicle.
9. Start the water system and test the tap so it works, also keep an eye on the water connections so you get it tight and do not leak water.
